FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

When you open your gallery, you will be able to view the entire 60+ photos which will be watermarked. The package you have paid for determines how many images you will be able to download at the time of your viewing. Don't worry though, if you fall in love with the entire gallery, you can upgrade at any point.

How should we dress for our family session?

While MY aesthetic is beautiful neutral vibes and I have a small selection of garments to suit this in my client wardrobe, my answer is always “wear what you feel most comfortable and beautiful in”. If that is jeans and an oversized cardi, DO IT! If you love one of my client wardrobe pieces and they feel like something you would wear, do that!

In terms of colour - wear whatever suits your complexion and works with what the rest of your family will be wearing (you don’t have to be matchy matchy!)

As always, if you are still feeling a little stuck, you can message or email me your options and I can help you from there.

In summary: when choosing what to wear, make sure it is comfy, you feel beautiful in it and you look like YOU!

What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?

The best time to have a newborn session is when they're still in that sleepy phase at about 0-10 days old. You know the one where they are easily milk drunk? If you get them during that time, you're sure to get some beautiful sleepy snaps. Although this is lovely, it's not necessary. So if you have missed that window for whatever reason like I did with my first, booking some newborn photos in before they are no longer classified newborns is something you'll never regret.

If they've graduated out of the newborn phase, trust me, all is not lost. We might not get the typical newborn sleepy shots, but the smiles and glimpses into their personalities we're able to catch at this stage are magical!

How does an In Home Session work?

In home sessions are so much fun and can be sooo relaxed because your family is in a space they are already comfortable in. If you've just had a baby, I don't want you to have to stress about doing a deep clean on your house, we will likely only use a couple of rooms, if that. When I walk into your home, I will take a couple of minutes to find the best light (usually the master bedroom or front lounge is best) and we will begin our session from there! All you need to do is have fun with your family and love on them while we create some beautiful moments in your home.

What if my baby is unsettled or my child is having a hard time participating in the session?

Newborn sessions can take up to two hours for this very reason. Babies are unpredictable, so this allows for times where they may need your comfort, a feed or resettling.

For toddlers, preparation is key. You know before you take them to the doctors or the dentist, you might have a little role play of what might happen in those settings? You can totally do that for a photography session! Practise their smile or giving mum a cuddle. Looking at the camera, looking at dad, giving baby brother a kiss on the head. The possibilities are endless!

If you feel your little one is being a little difficult, please try not to pressure them to look at the camera or pose a certain way. I'll work around them and guide them through play and if that doesn't work...snacks are always a win!

What if we are dreaming of a studio session?

My home studio in Hillside is available for small families with a newborn, sitter sessions and motherhood/fatherhood sessions at no extra cost.

If we need a little more space, I'm fortunate to be able to hire a few different and equally beautiful studios in South Kingsville, Camberwell and Strathmore. The cost of hire (which varies) is added to your invoice upon deciding on the studio as your preferred location and payment is due the week prior to our session.

What happens if we need to reschedule due to illness?

Then we reschedule! Having worked with kids for over 12 years and now being a mama myself, I know that these things happen. Just let me know as soon as you can so that I can move things around for you.

If I am ill, the last thing I want is to pass on something to your beautiful bubbas. I will endeavour to reschedule our session for as soon as I possibly can and depending on how soon after my illness, I will wear a mask to ensure the safety of you and your little ones.
